Do I need to create an account?
No. ProteinPilot works completely without an account. Your data is stored locally on your device. Just download, set your protein goal, and start tracking — no email, no password, no sign-up.
Is ProteinPilot really free?
Yes. The free version includes food search, barcode scanning, quick-add, 7-day history charts, streaks, and a personalized protein goal. Pro adds AI photo scanning, widgets, unlimited favorites and custom foods, and extended analytics.
How does AI food scanning work?
Point your camera at any meal and our AI identifies the food and estimates protein content. It works best with clear, well-lit photos. You get up to 15 scans per day with Pro.
Where is my data stored?
All your data stays on your device in a local database. Nothing is sent to our servers. If you enable iCloud backup, your data syncs to your personal iCloud account — we never see it.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. Both plans include a 7-day free trial. Cancel anytime in iPhone Settings before the trial ends and you won't be charged. If you cancel after, you keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.
How is my protein goal calculated?
Based on your body weight, activity level, and fitness goal using established nutritional guidelines. The multiplier ranges from 1.0 to 2.2 grams per kilogram of body weight. You can adjust it anytime in Settings.
